Dr. Alan Kravitz grew up in Rockville, Maryland. He received his M.D. degree from University of Maryland, and completed his residency in General Surgery in 1988. Since that time, Dr. Kravitz has been in private practice in Montgomery County and since 1993 has been voted by his fellow physicians as a “Top Doctor” for Washingtonian Magazine. Dr. Kravitz has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and is currently Chairman of the General Surgery Section. In addition, he serves as Chairman of the Quality Improvement Advisory Committee for CareFirst in the Washington-Baltimore area and is a member of the national Physician Leadership Team for Surgical Care Affiliates. Dr. Kravitz has been certified by the American Board of Surgery since 1989.
